Wikipedia defines the term "blog" as "a type of website, usually maintained by an individual with regular entries of commentary, descriptions of events, or other material such as graphics or video." So, I guess that's pretty much what you should expect from this. |
January: Waking up New Years Day in a less-than-charming frat house (no offense Jeremiah, but the bathroom door was broken and I think there was broken glass in the hallway) and having a spirited debate with my best friends over whether or not someone had urinated in the mini fridge. This was followed by the discovery of krispy creme donuts that were purchased at a gas station the night before.
February: Celebrating Rachael’s 21st birthday in style by karaoking/yelling Cheap Trick’s “I Want you to Want Me” with her at Nate & Wally’s Fishbowl to an audience of 5 of our friends, 3 townies and the bartender. I have never felt like more of a rockstar.
March: Starting my job as a research assistant for an educational grant in Bowling Green. Due to some overexpenditure on things like beer, speeding tickets and el zarape, I needed it bad. Also, the job was awesome. It gave me some great opportunities and introduced me to some truly awesome people.
April: Turning all of my friends into Cavs fans and spending every game at Revs watching the Cavs battle their way to a 66-16 record.
May: Flying to Vegas for an all-expenses-paid 4 days with Alex and his parents. Tigers, $14 drinks, awesome tacky recreations of European landmarks, Cirque du Soleil and slot machines were included among other things.
June: Shoving 7 people in a Ford Taurus to make the trip from BG to Cleveland to see Erik’s brother’s band play, then spontaneously creating an inspirational interpretive dance with said people on the dance floor.
July: Watching trashy Vh1 reality TV with Alex and Emily in Alex’s amazing apartment in downtown Chicago over 4th of July weekend and realizing that things haven’t changed at all since we watched trashy Vh1 reality TV in Alex’s parent’s basement 6 years ago.
August: Celebrating my 22nd birthday in Put n’ Bay with my parents and twin sis Anna. Realizing that my parents are better drinkers than me and being completely okay with that.
September: Getting my first experience of what it’s like to be a teacher. Being told by a student that they couldn’t wait for me to teach them again. Realizing that I chose the right career path.
October: Spending a night on the town (the town being Bowling Green, OH) with Bob the tomato, Carmen Sandiego, Lady Gaga, and a safari guide among others. Asked a bartender if I could dance on the bar and was rejected. This was the first time I have experienced a rejection to that question. Woke up the next morning and was SO thankful.
November: Teaching a unit on Deviance & Social control to a group of senior sociology students. Conducting an awesome debate on the death penalty and showing students that things may not always be as black and white as they thought.
December: Having the most awesome time ever at my sister’s wedding. Reuniting with friends and family, dancing to Lady Gaga with my mother and giving a hit maid of honor speech while under the influence of some strong Jack & cokes.
